H.K.F. Inc. Therm-Pacific Porcelain Broiler Pan Review

This is a utilitarian item, no bells and whistles but does just what it is supposed to do. With recent concerns published in the media about nonstick releasing toxins at high heat, we went back to basics and replaced our nonstick pan with this more traditional one. Works just fine and we no longer need to worry about harming ourselves or the environment by blasting Teflon in the broiler.

Baker's Secret Large Broiler with Grill Top Review

Baker's Secret Large Broiler with Grill Top

NB: The one star rating of this broiler is only(!) because there is no "zero star" option.
I went through *two* of these broilers in less than two months and after repeated delays awaiting a return lablel (I don't have easy access to a working printer) finally returned them to Amazon for refund -- which I never(!) received, despite being assured that I would be refunded the shipping cost I paid to return them.
Despite close(!) attention to the use and care instructions, the non-stick surface of the pans began to crack/peel/flake after less than five to six washings in my automatic dishwasher. Under no circumstances whatsoever should foods of any type ever be placed in the pan.
The non-stick surface of the grills lasted longer, but they, too, eventually deteriorated, allowing foods to stick and the coating to peel.
Despite the low price I cannot recommend this item.

With proprietary nonstick coating on tin-coated professional-weight steel, this large broiler delivers even cooking results, optimal browning, and effortless release of baked goods. Its two-ply steel is fortified with Electro-Tin Plating (ETP), which enhances durability and rust protection and provides even heat distribution. The pan is easy to handle in and out of the oven, and its broiler-safe rating allows for the multi-purpose function of both cooking and baking. The broiler's convenient grill top is designed with air holes and grooves to enhance the grilling of fish, chicken, veggies, and more. Only non-metal utensils, such as nylon and wood tools, should be used to protect the nonstick coating, and the pan wipes clean and is dishwasher safe for quick cleanup. The large broiler pan measures 12-1/2 by 10-1/2 by 2 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.

It works great! I don't do a lot of cooking; my wife is a chef however. I bought this for her after she told me she wanted one. When we got it, she thought I had ordered the wrong thing because she hadn't used one with a slotted bottom pan before. She uses it all of the time and loves it even more than her much older, non-slotted bottom pan broiler. Over all, it has turned out to be a great purchase. Perfect size to cook four large steaks or New-York strips on.

Porcelain Broiler Pan, 2-Piece Review

Porcelain Broiler Pan, 2-Piece
Average Reviews:

This pan just arrived in the mail and I'm delighted with it. For years, I've been using a large, porcelain broiler pan that came with my first range. This new pan is ideal for everyday meals for two people. And it won't be a dishwasher hog.
I read the review that warned about grease sticking to the pan. Porcelain is notorious for that. But it's safe for using with the high heat of a broiler. So I'll line the bottom of the pan with foil and then spritz the top slotted broil tray with cooking spray. That'll take care of the issue.

When I ordered this pan I didn't realize that the bottom piece is so deep and doubles as a baking pan. It's going to be helpful for baking vegetable dishes or desserts at the same time as roasts.
