(More customer reviews)I am happy with this toaster. When I first bought it, I set the dial in the middle, inserted a piece of whole wheat bread, and it came out medium-toasted. It toasted evenly. So far I have only toasted 1 slice at a time. I tried using each slot. One time out of the four, the toast was ejected completely out of the toaster. I am hoping the spring will mellow out with time.
This toaster is billed as "automatic toast boost" but that seems to mean that the toast rises higher than other toasters. I am not sure if this is true and I wish it had a manual boost. Small pieces of bread do not stick up very high. I haven't tried a bagel but I can't imagine them sticking up as high as shown in the illustration.
For the price I think this is a very good toaster. It has a removable crumb tray. The slots seem good-sized and it grips the bread as you lower it. The bagel setting stops the center elements from heating. There is a little diagram by the slots to show you which way to insert your bagel. I haven't actually tried out any bagels.
